How do you heat the water in an outdoor shower?

You can also shower outdoors under wonderfully warm water. We explain how we make that possible.

How do you heat the water in an outdoor shower?

An outdoor shower in your own private space is a real treat! By installing an outdoor shower, you bring a true sense of wellness home. LB Solutions' outdoor showers all feature a showerhead that provides soothing water jets, making it a true pleasure to stand under.

Simply take a wonderfully cold shower in your own private space on a hot summer day, or a good splash of cold water after the sauna—there's nothing better! But besides cold showers, you can also enjoy a wonderfully warm outdoor shower in the fresh air. We'll explain how to achieve this.

How do we get hot water from the outdoor shower?
There are two options for getting hot water from the outdoor shower:

  1. With a single connection and a single water pipe to the outdoor shower, where the water is pre-mixed to the desired temperature using a temperature controller.
  2. With a double connection, with a cold water pipe and a hot water pipe, connected indoors to the central heating boiler or water heater.

Heating an outdoor shower with a single connection
If you choose a single connection, only one water pipe needs to be installed to the shower. By then installing a temperature controller between the water pipe and the central heating boiler or water heater, this controller can pre-mix the water to the set temperature at the boiler or water heater and then direct this water to the outdoor shower.

In this case, the water temperature cannot be adjusted on the shower itself and is always constant.

If this is sufficient for you, select the "single connection" version when configuring the outdoor shower. This applies to model numbers KR01 and KR02. The KR01 has an on-off tap and the KR02 has an ECO push button.

Heating an outdoor shower with a dual connection
If you prefer to be able to adjust the water temperature in your shower at any time, a dual connection is a better option. In that case, two water pipes must be installed to the outdoor shower (one for cold water and one for hot water).

These are connected indoors to the central heating boiler or water heater, and you can adjust the desired temperature on the shower itself using a mixer tap.

If you would like to use a dual connection, select the "mixer tap" version when configuring your outdoor shower. This applies to model numbers KR03, KR04, and KR06. The KR03 is a lever mixer tap, the KR04 is a wheel tap, and the KR06 is a combination of a mixer tap and an additional hand shower.

To summarize: There are two ways to get hot water to the outdoor shower. The choice depends on the number of water pipes you can/want to install.
