How we get the names?
The names of LB Solutions outdoor showers are inspired by cloud types such as Cirrus, Cumulus, and Stratus. This reference to clouds aligns with the character of an outdoor shower: refreshing, natural, and connected to water. The names are based on an international classification system for clouds and are chosen based on sound, recognizability, and design experience.
This article answers the following questions:
- Where do the names of outdoor showers come from?
- What does Cirrus or Cumulus mean in the context of outdoor showers?
- Why do brands use cloud names for products?
- How are product names chosen?
- What are the models from LB Solutions?
The names of our outdoor showers are not just random (well, actually ;-)), they are the names of cloud types, varieties, shapes and phenomena. A cloud is a collection of tiny water droplets, ice crystals or a mixture of both and we thought this suited our refreshing and beneficial rain showers very well. That is why the choice to use these names was quickly made.
There is an international system for naming clouds, this system is based on an eighteenth century system devised by the English pharmacist and physicist Luke Howard. The different cloud genera belong to a family, or a combination of families. The four families are: high clouds, medium clouds, vertically developed clouds and low clouds and these families are subdivided into different types. So there are quite a few names to choose from. The final choice of a name is mainly determined by our personal taste (what we think sounds nice and is easy to write and pronounce).
Our range of outdoor showers has now grown significantly and we have adopted the cloud names Alto, Arcus, Stratus, Cumulus, Calvus and Cirrus, among others. With every new model we develop, we use the cloud atlas again and determine together with the team what name we will give to the new outdoor shower.
A fun process, which we usually end quite quickly.
